So here it goes, an attempt at reciting some of the “behind the scenes” events that take place at the studio. You can expect to read ramblings related to but not restricted to costume vendors, competition enrollment issues, choreography, dance history, theatre production, prop building, awesome parents, amazing students and just about every other little mundane thing that may peak my curiosity or leave me shaking my head. This blog is not here to sugar coat anything or to sell a product, it is only here to round out the edges, so to say, or to add a touch of comic relief to what can be a somewhat stressful balancing of emotions.
In the end, I hope that this blog will help add a little depth and personality to, what may seem to some, just another business. Dance studios over time seem to take on a life of there own and are most definitely chalked full of the little triumphs and tragedies that make it unique. The group of students, teachers and parents that make CSDA a whole have been nothing but the best and I couldn’t be happier every time I walk through the front door of the studio. I only hope that I can live up to all of your expectations and continue to build a long healthy relationship with each and everyone of you.
So now that we have that out of the way, lets blog!
Today I finished one of my favorite projects, costume orders. The scent of dance catalogues and order forms is a love hate relationship for me. The browsing through and looking for inspiration part I love, but the cross referencing of measurements to each vendors individual sizing charts, yea, not so much. Why is it that even though I have checked the measurements at least twice I still feel nervous calling the final order. Must be an OCD behavior.

I am really happy with all the costume choices this year and I can’t wait to see them bring the choreography to life. It always starts to sink in after costume orders that the competition season is rapidly approaching and before you know it we are neck deep in producing the annual dance show.
So, other than starting a new blog and finishing costume orders, it was a pretty average day. The rest of it will be spent in bed on my iphone playing Words with Friends and watching Sex in the City reruns.
Best Wishes, Miss Janet
